skin care regime 101 @ 09:15

Those who know me, knows perfectly well that I am someone who has BAD skin. you know when i wrote in my last post how angry god must be with the human race when he was making me, well my skin is another example of that! actually before stupid puberty hit me, I had such perfect skin, well doesn't everybody? damn it. Infact it was okay-ish till my olevel ended. just the occasional pimples thats all despite having a very oily skin. But after I started Poly, just a few months later, my skin looks absolutely crap-ish. :( like when i walk into guardian or watsons the sales lady would always comment on how bad my skin is and i should use dunno know how many damn products. what-eva! pff. its not like I don't know you know...

I dont know why my skin turned bad. it could be due to the immense stress i faced when i started Poly life and also the make-up I used to wear EVERYDAY. ?? so after a few months i had very bad acne problem, but that was not it. i started having scars. My secondary school friends who saw me after a long time were surprised with my skin condition and were like eh aren't you the perfect sin type of person? what happened. Ofcourse if i tell someone now that there was once a time when I used to have clear skin the person is just gonna laugh all the way to paris. Sigh.

SO ANYWAYS, MOVING ON. I recently discovered this book in my school library. like just a few weeks back.

the new science of perfect skin by Daniel Yarosh

Well I didnt had to pay for it so just borrow lor. And I must say this book has a lot of handy information about skin care. No, it does not tell you how to do home-made masks and what-nots. but it does talks about the current brands of products out there which actually works! For me i have always been so lost and confused about what works for my skin and what does not. after all I have gone through from huge range of products, including just recently an exclusive spa line which is not selling in open market, for me I find it too gentle, I mean I didn't get new acnes but my skin condition remained the same.

actually very hard to explain my skin type. I used to think I have oily skin, but recently I realised its Combination. what. the. fuuuuuu. That combination I SWEAR is the worst. you cant use just one type of product. when i used strong anti-acne cleanser my skin at the cheekbone area started to dry and actually peel off! luckily this gel came to the rescue which i bought from G-market!

Nature Republic aloe vera soothing gel. you can put this in ANY part of your body, and because its kinda cheap and pretty big tub of gel i use this thing generously. ^^ on any part which is dry or burning. it gives a soothing feeling and is quite moisturising. :)

Plus my skin has this permanent bumps. i do not think it is acnes because they have been there for a LOOOONNNGGG time. they dont have cysts and neither does any clear liquid(best word i can come up with) comes out when i squeeze them. they are just there along with the scars, LIKE A PART OF MY SKIN. creepy huh? So with the spa line range which is called Olinda skincare products from korea, Body wellness spa here in singapore uses their products. their facials are effing expensive ----though -_______- I did not get any new acnes, godpromise# but my previous acne also never disappear. so after it finished i didnt repurchase.

after reading the book i bought neutrogena deep cleanser. yes, everyone knows it is very strong due to the use of 2.0% salicylic acid. But it is pretty effective. My previous 'bumps' have actually started to go down a little. :) but my skin became too dry so I stopped for a few days to let it return back to normal. but i think i used too much of the moisturising cream and the oily part of my skin especially the T-zone area started to break out a little. sigh. SO I CAME UP WITH A SOLUTION. #hallelujah

Now what I do is use it only on my T-zone area, only once a day. also most of the acnes are at my lower cheek area for some weird reason so I use it there too. i mean that is SUPPOSE to be the normal part of my skin. but the facial lady told me it is because all the bacteria is congested there. so she recommended i go for more facials. and pay ard $100 for one facial? err no thx? Because it is soap it will go to other part of the skin too so if it does and I am afraid it might become dry again, i used the aloe vera gel there. load of it. like a mask. and i scrub my face once everyday. i know it is suppose to be once or twice a week but my skin looks so clear and bright after scrubbing i can help myself.

Body Shop Face Loofah

I use these to scrub my face gently after washing my face once a day and my skin remains looking bright the whole day. well atleast half a day? It is better than buying those scrubs also because scrubs are not very cheap and your skin looks even brighter after using this than a scrubber. well atleast it works for me. I have also just started using cream on my acnes with benzoyl peroxide. Even the book agrees that it is the only thing that works when it comes to killing the acne bacteria. :) You do not have to get those 10% types because apparently the 2.5% one works just as well and is less irritating.

I have heard diorsnow really works wonders on acne scars. hmm... should i buy? it is pretty expensice. :/ but i heard it is really effective so I am itching to give it a try. But seriously after reading the book I feel like more of USA non-famous brands should be brought to Asian countries like Singapore! T.T

But till then I am just going to work on my acnes. Those with acnes should try this way of treating their acnes too. salicylic acid facewash followed with a suitable moisture for skin type and finish off with benzoyl peroxide cream like Oxy cream or neutrogena cream. ^^ btw this shitty thing does not work any difference on me despite rolling away religiously all the time. -.-

yeah this post has no personally taken picture because I feel like a lazy ass right now to take picture and upload.
